Overview
The UNI-T UT505B is a handheld insulation resistance tester for commissioning and maintenance work on electrical installations, motors, transformers, cables and photovoltaic systems. Five test voltages from 50 V to 1000 V cover sensitive control wiring through to 1000 V industrial equipment, and the meter resolves insulation resistance up to 200 GΩ.
Timed test modes calculate the dielectric absorption ratio (DAR) and polarisation index (PI) automatically; the tester discharges the device under test after each measurement, and up to 99 results can be stored on board. It complies with IEC 61557 parts 1, 2 and 4 (2007) and doubles as a true root mean square (RMS) meter for AC/DC voltage, resistance, capacitance, frequency and leakage current.
