This three-phase energy logger is ideal for the following.

Current sensing coils
This meter comes with MRC24 600A Rogowski current sensing coils. If you would like to measure larger currents, or larger bus bars, order the following rogowski coils additionally.
ST08 current clamps
Alternatively you can order the ST08 current clamps. This is idea for measuring small current flows below 1 A, but also up to 10A or 20A.

The default password is 1000. If you forgot the custom password you set, then please contact us for the master password to reset it again.
Yes, it comes with 4 voltage sensing leads. 3 Current sensing coils, that can measure up to 600A, and a USB power supply and cable. If you want to measure higher currents, then you have to buy larger Rogowski coils, also available here.
According to the manual only 7 hours, but in our experience the batteries last up to 48 hours (Rechargeable 2500 mAh Duracell). When logging longer periods of time it is recommended to use a USB power supply and connect it to the USB C power supply port on the meter. Alternatively one could also use a large USB power bank, just make sure it is large enough to last the duration you want to log for. A 10 0000 mAh Power bank will last 3 days in our experience.
A 8 GB holds far more data than any normal energy audit requires. The exact duration depends on your logging interval.
The figures below are based on a real ME435 customer recording in 3-phase 4-wire mode with full harmonic analysis enabled — this is the standard logging configuration on every ME435.

Why such a small card? The 8 GB capacity is deliberate. We optimised for endurance, not capacity. Energy logging is a write-heavy workload that wears out consumer-grade SD cards within months. The Kingston Industrial card we ship is rated for 30,000 write/erase cycles and 1,920 TB of total writes — roughly 6× the endurance of a standard consumer card. It operates reliably from −40 °C to +85 °C, which matters in unheated electrical rooms, outdoor enclosures, and rooftop installations.
When you might want a larger card. If you plan to log at 1-second resolution continuously for more than ~6 months without downloading data, contact us and we’ll supply a 16 GB or 32 GB Kingston Industrial card as an upgrade. For all standard energy audits, load profiling, and solar sizing surveys, the 8 GB card is more than sufficient.
Tip: Always download and back up your data before starting a new recording session, and reformat the card in the meter (not the PC) between deployments. This keeps the file system aligned with the meter’s firmware and maximises card lifespan.
The meter automatically starts recording data as soon as it is turned on. This data is stored on the SD Card in the meter. Please make sure that there is an SD card inserted on the side of the meter. A green icon on the screen will indicate the presence of a SD Card. The logging interval can be set in the settings of the meter.
No, the meter needs to have power supplied to it’s USB C port, either by a USB power supply or a USB Powerbank. If no USB power is connected, then it will stop working as soon as its internal batteries are flat, after about 72 hours. It is possible to supply the power supply with power using this Power supply adaptor cable.
The maximum size SD card that can be used is 32 GB. The required partition format is FAT32.
The amount of space required for one day’s logging at 1-minute intervals is 1 kB. So, on a 4 GB SD card, one can log for more than 8 years.
Each meter is factory-tested and calibrated. The allowable variance is less than 0.02% Click here to see an example meter calibration report. If you are using CTs then use the ratio specified on the CT, however, if you are using Rogowski coils then there is no ratio to be set. You can set the option to use CTs or the Rogowski coils under “Wire settings” in the menu, then “iCon” (Current Connection). So use “CTCon” for CTs and “RCoilCon” for Rogowski coils.

The maximum size that can be used with the meter is 32 GB, please ensure the SD card size is 32 GB or smaller. Also, the SD card must be formatted with the FAT 32 file system. Please format the SD card on your computer with the FAT 32 File system.
The current value may not be displayed if the duration that the current flows, is below 1 second. The current is still measured and taken into account for the energy consumption. So if the current flows for very short periods of time, then it will not be recorded. The overall energy usage will still be recorded accurately
Another reason is if the 3000A coil is used, and the current flow is less than 3A, then it can not be measured.
It seems that there might be an error in the wiring configuration. Please confirm if it is set to 3-phase 4-wire (3PH4W).

Yes, you do not need to have batteries installed. It also works without batteries. But it is good to have that just for in case of a power failure.
To connect the meter for a single phase setup, connect the phase voltage to phase A (terminal UA) and (terminal IN) to neutral. To measure the current the Rogowski coil must be connected to Port IA. Please take care that the Rogowski coil are connected the right way around.
The Wire setting must be set to: 1PH2W_LN
One could measure just the current, and not the voltage, but then one would only have the current values. All other factors, can then not be calculated factors like the power, the power factor, the energy and other aspects. So, it is highly recommended to always measure both current and voltage leads.
The maximum input voltage that the ME440 can handle is 480 VAC, L-N.
